PESHAWAR: Former chief justice of Peshawar High Court Tariq Pervez passed away on Saturday.
Justice Tariq, who retired from the apex court in 24 February 2013. He had also served as the interim chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for holding general polls after taking oath in 2013.
Later, he was appointed as the chief election commissioner in 2014. He remained advocate general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and president of High Court bar.
His funeral prayer would be offered to day at his residence located on Shami Road in Peshawar.
Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and other Supreme Court judges expressed their sorrow over the sad demise of the retired judge. They extended their condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan has condoled the sad demise of former Chief Justice Tariq Pervez and expressed sympathy with members of the bereaved family.
Mahmood Khan prayed Allah Almighty to may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with patience.
