ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General (R) Asim Bajwa is likely to be appointed as the head of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.

Asim Bajwa, also former Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief will be appointed for a period of four years.

In this regard, a summary has been prepared by the Prime Minister’s Office and sent to the Cabinet Division for approval.

The approval of the summary is expected in the next meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

General Asim Saleem Bajwa is a retired three-star general who has also served as Commander Southern Command and Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) from 2012 to 2016.

He has also been honoured with the Tamgha-e-Basalat and Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his military services.
