PESHAWAR: Former national hockey team captain Abdul Rashid Jr. has passed away.
According to sources, former hockey captain Abdul Rashid was 79 years old and was suffering from kidney disease. He was the only legendary athlete to win gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Olympic games.
Rashid Jr. was also the manager of the national team that won the Hockey World Cup. he had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Islamabad for several weeks while he was not given any help by the government during his illness. His funeral prayers will be offered in Bannu.

In 1968 and 1972, Olympian Abdul Rashid Jr. proved to be the highest-scoring player. He had scored the most 96 goals for Pakistan by the time he retired.
