ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday removed the Form 47 section from its website in light of allegations regarding election result tampering.
A “404 error” notice appears when a visitor tries to view the “Form-47 Provisional Results Dashboard” on the ECP website, indicating that the requested webpage is not available on the server.
This move follows complaints made against the electoral watchdog for what was thought to be a delay in declaring the results of the election.
Omar Ayub, the secretary general of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated earlier in the day in a message on X that returning officers (ROs) had falsified Form 47 of the 18 National Assembly seats that PTI-backed independent candidates in Karachi were purportedly the winners of.
Meanwhile, independent candidates under the Constitution may join any political parliamentary party within three days after notification of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and that party would get more reserve seats for women and non-Muslims in the National Assembly under the new numerical strength.
If independent candidates do not join any political parliamentary party within three days after notification of the ECP, then they will remain in their independent position.
