ISLAMABAD: Inflation has broken all records in the year 2023, and food items became 100 percent expensive.
In one year, the price of potato increased from Rs 40 to Rs 70 per kg, live chicken increased by Rs 210 to more than Rs 500, while the price of mangoes rose from Rs 110 to Rs 190 per kg.
Last year, sugar was Rs 95 per kg, which is now Rs 125 per kg, besides, a bag of flour is available at Rs 2,300 after crossing Rs 1,400. The brand’s ghee was priced at Rs 370 per kg last year and was sold at more than Rs 500 this year, while bread has gone up by Rs 10 to Rs 25 in a year.
On the other hand, according to the economic survey, due to floods and political instability, economic growth has been recorded up to 0.3%, while a 29% increase in the inflation rate has been recorded from this July to March.
