ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqui has confirmed the two-day visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan next week.
While addressing a weekly press briefing today in Islamabad, Ayesha Farooqui said that Recep Tayyip Erdogan would arrive in Pakistan from the 13-14 of February 2020.
The foreign officer also stated that the talks were underway with the Turkish government over dual nationality agreement.
Moreover, the National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser earlier today confirmed that the Turkish President will address the joint sitting of parliament on 14th February.
The visit was of Erdogan was earlier confirmed by Adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on 4th February. He added that Erdogan will be accompanied by a delegation of Turkish businessmen.
Erdogan’s visit was first decided in October last year but later it was delayed due to the military operation that took place in Syria.
Erodgan last visited Pakistan in 2016, during the PML-N-led government, during which he also addressed the parliament. He was accompanied by his wife Emine and a high-level delegation.
