ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad today in the federal capital.
The foreign minister and the US ambassador discussed the bilateral relations between the countries, the Afghan peace process, and other important issues.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi during the meeting said that Pakistan would continue to play its positive role in the Afghan peace process.
He said that Pakistan played a crucial role as a negotiator of the Afghan peace process. The country would continue its positive efforts, he added. Khalilzad lauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace and support of Afghan refugees.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan also met Khalilzad today the premier said that Pakistan had facilitated the Afghan peace and reconciliation process.
The prime minister further said that we genuinely believed that after Afghanistan it would benefit the most from peace and stability in that country.
