Five robbers were killed in a police encounter near Khairabad Gulshan Tawheed in the Manghopir area of Karachi in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to SSP West Tariq Mastoi, police launched a search operation after receiving a tip about the presence of two robbers on a motorcycle in the area. During the operation, the encounter took place.
He stated that the police had cordoned off the area to apprehend the outlaws. However, when the robbers saw the police, they opened fire on the personnel, resulting in the police’s retaliatory firing that left five robbers dead.
The bodies of the robbers have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal purposes. According to the police, the identities of the deceased robbers have not yet been ascertained.
Mastoi mentioned that weapons, motorcycles, and other goods were recovered from the possession of the deceased robbers. The group was reportedly involved in the looting of several houses in the area.
