The Sindh College Education Department has announced new rules and regulations for intermediate first-year admissions to colleges across the province. The admission process begins today.
According to the new admissions policy, only students with A1 and A grades will be eligible for admission on an open-merit basis. Students with other grades will be admitted based on the zonal admission policy. Admissions, starting July 1, will be granted based on the 10th class results.
The department has also approved the Electronic Centralized College Admission Policy for intermediate first-year admissions for the session 2024-25, including in Karachi. Under the new policy, the college zone system will continue in Karachi, limiting students to admission to their nearest colleges. Only students with A1 and A grades will have the option to apply to any college for admission.
Thousand of students are admitted to different colleges in Karachi after passing their matriculation exams, however, only 40 percent pass intermediate.
