Khan maintained that she would act as a ‘bridge’ between transgenders and the police. Sobia Khan works for the social rights of transgenders. This is one of the main reasons that she has been chosen to play a key role as a DRC member between the police and eunuchs.
It is to be noted here that she has not been recruited by the police and no official decision has been taken related to her salary or monthly allowance. The purpose of the deployment at the DRC Centre in Peshawar is to allay the concerns of the transgender community. The Peshawar Police’s assignment of responsibilities in the DRCs of transgenders has aimed to present police services in an easy and respectful manner.
