KARACHI: Police lodged a case against Madagar 15 officials over accusation of killing a citizen and injuring another man with him near Karachi’s Techno City Mall.
According to a police official, the accused cop committed a serious mistake by assuming the citizens as robbers when they were talking loudly during a despite.
He further said that the fire was opened by two officials, Sarfraz and Imran, out of three in the police team.
“The service period of one accused police official is more than 20-years, seven years of the second policeman while the third official joined the force four-year ago”, he added.
The Methadar police station filed case number 287 against the policemen, including the murder section and other clauses.
On Friday, a man was killed and another injured when police personnel opened fire at them on I.I. Chundrigar Road over a “misunderstanding”, assuming the men to be robbers.
The incident prompted high-ups to take notice and the three cops involved in the incident were subsequently arrested.
According to Mithadar police, 48-year-old Muhammad Aslam was shot dead while 26-year-old Waqar Muhammad was injured near Karachi’s Techno City after officials opened fire.
Taking notice of the matter, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Javed Akbar Riaz has also sought a detailed report of the incident.
