Filters have been part of our life, people need to be okay with it: Hania Amir

Actress Hania Amir has finally shed light on using an Instagram filter and revealing that she never plumped her lips and elevated her cheekbones.

The Ishqiya actress added a story on her Instagram and shared that it’s 2021 and filters have been part of our life so people need to be OK with others using filters on their faces. According to Amir, Instagram also says the number of filters being used on a story.

“Let’s just get straight with it. This is a ‘filter’,” Amir asserted. She throughout the video said she had an Instagram filter on her face, her lips are not plumped, her cheekbones are not elevated, following her eyebrows are not perfect and her eyes are normally not sparkly.

Amir was recently called a hypocrite for urging people to embrace their natural, makeup-free skin while using a beauty filter on Instagram herself. She took to Instagram to share a video wherein she can be seen calling out the ‘gora complex’ continuing in the society.

“One thing that has been bothering me for a while is colour shaming,” Amir said while revealing how she realised the problem after a friend told her she needs to get a tan. However, she was criticised for not practicing what she is preaching.
