KARACHI: Another petition has been filed against Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda in the Sindh High Court for filing the false affidavit regarding his hidden dual nationality.
The petitioner lawyer Qadir Khan Mandokhel in his petition stated that Faisal Vawda hid his dual citizenship at the time of filing nomination papers for elections.
Vawda held his dual citizenship at the time of the election polls, the petitioner said.
This is not the first time that a petion in the same regard had been filed against Vawda. A petition last month was filed against him in the Islamabad High Court.
Advocate Jehangir Jadoon claimed on behalf of petitioner Mian Mohammad Faisal that the federal minister had sent a fake affidavit to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while filing his nomination papers.
When questioned by the court what was the last date for filing the nomination papers, the lawyer told the court that the last date was 11 June 2018, before submitting Vawda’s affidavit.
Vawda was a dual national at the time of filing nomination papers for general elections in 2018. He hid his US citizenship deliberately during the election of 2018.
