Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has declared that water is a red line for Pakistan, affirming that the fundamental right of 240 million Pakistanis to water will not be compromised under any circumstances.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) made these remarks during an interaction with vice-chancellors, principals, and senior professors from various universities. He emphasized the pivotal role of educators in shaping Pakistan’s future.
“Teachers are the greatest asset of our nation. Whatever I am today, I owe it to my parents and my teachers,” he said, stressing that it is the responsibility of educators to pass on the truth of Pakistan’s history and identity to the next generation. “In our struggle for truth, Allah has supported Pakistan at every step.”
Highlighting the importance of national unity, the army chief stated, “When a nation stands united like an iron wall, no external force can defeat it. The battle for truth demands collective resolve.”
On the Kashmir issue, Field Marshal Munir took a firm stance:
“There can be no compromise on Kashmir. It is an inalienable part of our national identity. India must understand — Pakistan will never abandon Kashmir.”
He reiterated Pakistan’s rejection of Indian hegemony:
“India’s long-standing attempts to suppress the Kashmir cause have failed. The issue remains alive — both morally and internationally.”
Turning to India’s internal unrest, he noted that terrorism within India is rooted in systemic oppression and discrimination against minorities, particularly Muslims. He also reiterated that terrorism in Balochistan is Indian-sponsored, asserting that these elements are not representative of the Baloch people.
On national governance, the COAS urged for a unified vision:
“We must build a strong and sovereign Pakistan where all institutions function under the Constitution and the law — free from political interference and personal agendas. Anyone attempting to undermine the state’s narrative must be resolutely countered.”
The speech marks a powerful reaffirmation of Pakistan’s national red lines, its unwavering support for Kashmir, and its resolve to safeguard sovereignty in the face of regional hostility.
