ISLAMABAD: A female officer from the Federal Police’s Counter-Terrorism Department was sacked after recording a TikTok video while driving an official vehicle in uniform.
The video, which went viral, led to her suspension and an investigation.
The investigation, conducted by Inspector Rescue 1122, recommended her termination, which was executed by SP Dolphin and Rescue, Mian Ali Raza.
Internal affairs deemed her actions as misconduct and a neglect of official duties, considering them disrespectful to her uniform.
Despite being given an opportunity to explain her actions through a show-cause notice, her responses were unsatisfactory, resulting in her dismissal due to the damage caused to the department’s reputation.
Earlier this week, a policeman was suspended for facilitating a transgender person make a TikTok video at the station house officer’s (SHO) office.
District Police Officer Abdullah Ahmad took notice of a TikTok video that went viral on social media and showed a transgender person sitting in the SHO’s official chair at the Chiniot City Police Station while filming a video. People saw the video as disrespectful to the police uniform, which is worn by a transgender person, and reacted negatively to it.
