KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information & Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the federal government should take lead in taking measures to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nasir Shah further said that the Sindh government has supported the federal initiatives unconditionally but no appreciation was received in return.
He said, “We were the first to implement the most effective and result oriented lockdown in our province. We were badly criticized that time by the federal ministers but now they are following the footsteps of us. We unconditionally supported the federal government decisions as per the worthy directive of the court”.
The information minister offered their full support to the federal government and demanded an effectively designed national policy to limit the COVID-19.
“We have and will support every initiative by the federal government which can provide relief to the people from COVID-19 pandemic. We do not want anything in return because it’s a national cause”.
He said, “We only request the federal government to design and implement a national policy keeping all the provincial chief executives on board”.
The minister said, however, irresponsible attitude and incomplete policies of the federal government has provided COVID-19 chance to infect the people across the country.
Nasir Shah assured the people to fight against the pandemic until the last breath and said that no compromise would be made on the precious lives of people.
