ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a 15 percent increase in the salaries of “underprivileged” employees.
According to a notification by Finance Division, the government has announced 15 percent disparity allowance for Grade 1 to 19 employees, while the report of the Pay Commission is awaited to include the allowance in the basic salary of the employees.
The Ministry of Finance announced that the disparity allowance will be applicable from March 1 while a summary of Time Scale Promotion is also being considered to mitigate the hardship being faced by employees stuck in the same grade for a long time.
It further stated that the decision about the up-gradation of government employees on the posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be taken in April 2022. The merger of Adhoc Relief/Allowances into pay will be decided on the report of pay and pension commission and will be merged in basic pay as per agreement, said the finance ministry.
The Finance Division has also prepared a summary for the promotion of employees at the appropriate time. The provinces have been advised to announce the allowance for employees.
