The Federal Cabinet is set to discuss political unrest as well as issues of national interest following the PTI protest today, as reported by national media sources on Wednesday.
According to a report by Geo News, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned a Federal Cabinet meeting for Wednesday evening. This will be the first meeting of the Federal Ministers after the unrest in Islamabad.
On the other hand, leaders and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are alleging that more than one hundred people were killed during the paramilitary forces’ crackdown on protesters at D-Chowk, Islamabad, last night.
These claims have not been independently verified, However, PTI leader Dr. Shahbaz Gill posted on X, asserting that over 100 workers were martyred, with many still missing.
He added that 33 bodies were taken to one hospital, while 27 others were transported to another. He accused the government of concealing the bodies.
Similar allegations have been circulating on various social media platforms, but no media outlet or independent source has confirmed any casualties at this time.
