The announcement by Maryam Aurangzeb came just a day after the same demand was raised by PTI Chairman Imran Khan when he went to the Islamabad residence of Arshad Sharif and offered condolences.
Just today, Islamabad High Court turned down a similar request to constitute a fact-finding commission to look into the killing of Arshad Sharif.
Arshad Sharif, it may be added here, was killed in the night of Sunday-Monday by police after he and his driver allegedly breached a roadblock that had been set up to check on motor vehicles using the route. Initial reports suggested that Arshad Sharif was traveling from Magadi town to Nairobi when they were flagged down at a roadblock being manned by a group of police officers. Police later declared it as a case of ‘mistaken identity’.
