The federal government has launched the implementation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Transformation Plan, under which a Rating and Reward System will be introduced for senior officers. The system will classify officers based on their performance, offering rewards accordingly.
According to FBR officials, officers will be categorized from A to E based on their performance, and senior officers will be rewarded with new vehicles, salary increments, and additional allowances.
Customs and Inland Revenue officers have been instructed to update their email and mobile numbers, and all field formations have been asked to prepare for the trial implementation of the rating system. During this period, officers in grades 17 and above will not be assigned any duties.
A letter has been issued to all FBR members, chief collectors, directors general, and chief commissioners, directing them to submit certificates for the trial launch of the new system today.
Earlier, under the National Transformation Plan approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the FBR has decided to take strict action against tax defaulters and short filers through its staff.
This move will enable the collection of an additional 3.5 trillion in sales tax. Cars will have the FBR logo displayed on their doors, with the headquarters’ central control room responsible for tracking every vehicle.
