ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) froze Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) accounts over non.payment of Rs. 23 billion dues in the head of sells tax. Saying a statement issued by FBR on Wednesday.
It was further said in the statement that Rs. 312 million have been recovered from SSGC in the head of sells tax while appellate commissioner has also confirmed Rs32 billion outstanding dues against the gas company in the same head.
“The remaining dues will be recovered from frozen accounts of the company as the largest tax collection body of the country has this authority under section 48 of Sells Tax Act 1990” it concluded.

Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had launched an automated currency declaration system to facilitate taxpayers and passengers flying in and out of the country.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin, presided over the launching ceremony at FBR headquarters. Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division Dr Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik, and DG FIA Sanaullah Abbasi were present on the occasion.
