Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), met with Hamas leaders in Qatar to offer his condolences following the recent martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh.
Rehman’s visit, which followed his arrival from Jeddah, involved significant discussions with Palestinian and Hamas officials.
During his time in Qatar, Rehman had a notable meeting with Khaled Mashal, a key figure in Hamas. In his remarks, Rehman expressed deep sorrow over Haniyeh’s death, stating, “The blood of martyr Ismail Haniyeh will not go in vain.”
He emphasized that Haniyeh’s martyrdom would strengthen Palestine’s ongoing struggle for liberation and expressed solidarity with the broader Islamic world in mourning the loss.
Rehman also stressed the duty of Muslims to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from what he referred to as Zionist occupation. He highlighted the steadfastness of both Hamas leaders and the Palestinian people in their pursuit of Al-Aqsa’s liberation, assuring that this struggle would continue.
The JUI-F chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause, reflecting a shared sense of unity with the broader Muslim Ummah in their fight for Palestinian freedom.
