In response to recent Indian aggression, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has declared that May 9 (Friday) will be observed as “Defence of the Nation Day” across Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the party, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has urged all religious scholars (ulama) to pass condemnation resolutions against Indian actions during their Friday sermons.
Maulana said that sacrificing for the defence of the homeland is both a duty and a matter of faith, adding that the entire nation stands united behind its courageous armed forces.
“Our brave military is facing the enemy with unmatched courage, and the nation stands like a wall of steel behind them,” he stated.
He reiterated that defending the country is a religious and national obligation, and that the nation is fully prepared to respond to any aggression.
It is worth noting that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had also strongly condemned Indian aggression a day earlier and vowed full support to the Pakistan Army.
