LAHORE: Former minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has emphasized that elections must be held within 90 days as per the Constitution, and the decision of the Supreme Court is final.
Talking to media here on Thursday, he said the judicial system in Pakistan is being ridiculed as court orders are not being followed, adding that no government can refuse to obey the Supreme Court’s decision, and the PTI is fighting to uphold the supremacy of the judiciary.
Fawad accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of attacking the judiciary, and the incumbent government of running away from the election. He urged the prime minister to invite the PTI for talks and said that his party would constitute a negotiating team.
Reacting on news reports of petrol bomb attack at the residence of prominent lawyer Azhar Siddique, Fawad Chaudhry said the house of lawyer Azhar Siddique was attacked at night, with a Molotov thrown at his house in an attempt to frighten him.
Speaking on this occasion, Hammad Azhar said that the opposition’s PDM government was shaking in their boots. He claimed that the police tortured Zile Shah to death, and officials had privately confided that they were “under pressure.” Azhar also mentioned that an attempt was made to scare Azhar Siddique by throwing a Molotov at his house.
