Internationally acclaimed fashion designer Mahmood Ahmad Tahir Bhatti, known for his jet-setting lifestyle and glamorous public image, is now embroiled in a serious legal dispute at home.
A family maintenance suit—Case No. 83041225—has been filed against Bhatti in the Lahore Family Court, raising allegations of emotional and financial neglect.
Humaira, Bhatti’s wife has filed a case against him in Lahore’s Family Court, levelling serious allegations.
According to Humaira, Bhatti allegedly subjected her to physical abuse under the influence of alcohol, restricted her from eating and drinking freely, and kept her confined at home. She further claimed that before leaving for France, Bhatti threatened to kill her if she spoke out against him. In her petition, she has also demanded financial support and maintenance.
The case, initiated on March 6, 2025, is currently at the Proclamation stage, typically indicating the respondent’s non-compliance or failure to appear in court proceedings. It is being overseen by Civil Judge Rana Asif Mustafa.
While Bhatti has built a reputation as a symbol of elegance and international success, court documents and related claims hint at a starkly contrasting reality.
The petitioner alleges not just marital neglect, but a broader pattern of family detachment, potentially involving disputes over wealth, inheritance, and moral responsibility.
The case has drawn attention due to Bhatti’s high profile, and may significantly impact both his personal reputation and public standing in Pakistan’s fashion and business circles.
