KARACHI: Dr Farooq Sattar, a disgruntled leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, has said that residents, civil society and political activists of Karachi had begun their struggle for the rights of the metropolis.
“The federal and Sindh governments would be forced to resolve the issues of its inhabitants,” he said while talking to M.M News today (Sunday) after inaugurating a tree plantation drive at Kidney Hill Park.
While criticizing the provincial parties, Dr. Farooq Sattar has asserted that those people were holding rallies in the name of rights who usurp rights themselves. “Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has violated the coronavirus SOPs by holding a rally in the city,” he added.
Sattar further said the city had been left at the mercy of an incompetent federal government and an apathetic Sindh government. He said that the youth should come forward and join the campaign for the city’s rights.
Talking about ‘We Help’, a youth social organization, he said that only young generation could manage the problems of the city. “Now the youth should be given full opportunity that is why I am here to encourage these youth,” he concluded.
