ISLAMABAD: Distinguished playback singer of Pakistan Mala Begum remembered on her 30th Death Anniversary on Friday.
The 30th death anniversary of well-liked Urdu and Punjabi singer of ’60s and ’70s, Naseem Nazli Begum was observed across the country.
Mala was born in Faisalabad and died on March 6, 1990. Mala be her profession somewhere around the late ’50s. She has sung more than 300 songs in almost two decades singing career.
She was the sister of Pakistan’s first female music director Shamim Nazli. Her voice was considered as the top female voices in the country and along with Noor Jehan and Runa Laila. She sang the most number of duets with Ahmed Rushdi.
Mala Begum’s first hit filmed on Neelo and made public take observe of them as performer singer. She started her career somewhere around the late ’50s.
She sang more than 300 songs in almost two decades singing career. Mala was equally popular in the East wing of Pakistan and play-backed for Shabnam in this classic film.
