A prestigious honorary ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir awarded military honors to officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army in recognition of their courage, bravery, and exceptional service to the nation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large number of senior military officers, as well as the families of martyrs and award recipients, attended the ceremony. During the event, various honors including Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Basalat were awarded. The families of the martyrs received the awards on their behalf with honor and pride.

On the occasion, Army Chief General Asim Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and war veterans, stating, “Martyrs and veterans are the pride of our nation; it is the duty of every Pakistani to respect and honor them. The peace and freedom we enjoy today are the result of the sacrifices of these brave sons of the soil.”

He said, “The respect and honor of martyrs is a sacred trust for every Pakistani.” He appreciated the sacrifices of the martyrs’ families, praising their courage, patience, and steadfastness, and stated that the nation is indebted to these great families.

The Army Chief also lauded the continuous efforts of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism, stating, “Our soldiers foiled many terrorist attacks and eliminated key terrorist commanders.”
He paid tribute to the commitment, professional skills, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army, saying the nation is proud of them. This ceremony was not only a moment of pride for the honorees, but also a message to the entire nation that our armed forces are always ready to ensure the security, sovereignty, and peace of Pakistan.
