After Pakistan’s disappointing group-stage exit in the 2025 Champions Trophy, Fakhar Zaman, the team’s opener, is reportedly considering retirement from ODI cricket.
As per a report by Samaa TV on Wednesday, Fakhar Zaman is set to conclude his ODI career. Sources close to the channel disclosed that Zaman discussed this decision with some senior team members during the Champions Trophy, with an official announcement likely to follow soon.
“Champions Trophy will be my last ICC tournament. I want to take a break from ODI cricket,” Zaman reportedly mentioned.
The report further said that Zaman’s decision stems from his prolonged battle with health issues, particularly hyperthyroidism.
