In Balochistan’s Surab district, wearing face masks or covering the face in public and riding motorcycles with pillion passengers have been banned, according to an official notification.
In view of the law and order situation, the district administration has imposed new restrictions as part of key security measures.
According to the notification, a complete ban has been imposed on wearing masks or covering the face in public, and pillion riding on motorcycles has also been prohibited throughout the district.
The restrictions come in the aftermath of a terrorist attack in Surab in which Assistant Deputy Commissioner Hidayatullah Baloch was martyred. His funeral prayer was offered recently.
Sources said that sensitive agencies and law enforcement authorities have detected suspicious activities in the district, prompting the administration to take preventive security steps.
The district administration has appealed to the public to play their role in maintaining peace and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. Strict legal action will be taken against violators.
