QUETTA: A series of powerful explosions were heard in different areas of Noshki and Panjgur districts of Balochistan on Wednesday.
According to reports, several blasts took place in district Noshki’s main market and Panjgur’s Ghora Chowk in Balochistan province after which security forces cordoned off the area. The blasts followed gunfire in the area.
The firing was also heard in the Noshki’s main market. Police and other law enforcers reached the spot to bring the situation under control. The blast also smashed the glasses of nearby buildings and other offices.
A Frontier Corps (FC) spokesperson said the blast in Noshki occurred near an FC building and the one in Panjgur took place at an FC camp. He said the blasts were followed by firing, which is ongoing. No casualties have been reported so far and the nature of the blasts is yet to be determined.
Police, Counter-Terrorism Department officials, Bomb Disposal Squad officials, and ambulances are reportedly present at the scene. Levies said two blasts occurred near Ghora chowk in Panjgur followed by heavy gunfire. A blast has also been reported in Hub area of Balochistan.
