KARACHI: A victim of the explosion that occurred in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area died after a private hospital refused to provide him medical treatment without payment.
Five people were dead and fifteen others were injured in the explosion that occurred on Wednesday morning near Maskan Chowrangi. Many of the injured were in critical condition and were shifted to a nearby private hospital.
The hospital refused to admit the injured without the submission of payments. The families of the victims said the hospital administration asked them to submit Rs50,000 before they could start any treatment or provide medical aid.
As a result, one person died from his wounds due to the negligence of the hospital staff and administration. After the incident, the victim’s family and other citizens protested against the hospital.
They raised slogans outside the hospital after the main gate was closed and the police were called in any of any untoward situation.
