Emirates resumes flights operation to Pakistan

DUBAI: Emirates Airlines has announced to resume services to Pakistan’s three main cities— Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad—after a temporary suspension.

According to Emirates spokesperson, following the receipt of relevant government approvals, Emirates resumed passenger services to Pakistan.

Passengers can travel to and from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad if they meet the requirements of their destination.

As per details, the Passengers made mandatory to carry a negative COVID-19 report from an approved laboratory issued within 96 hours of the journey.

According to the airline’s website, Passengers traveling from Pakistan to Dubai and beyond on Emirates must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate at the time of check-in.

“The PCR test must be taken up to four days prior to the travel date (96 hrs maximum) and must be conducted at the Emirates authorized Health Centre — Chughtai Labs — at the passenger’s expense.”

As per the website, Children under 12 years old are exempt from the test if they are traveling with their parents who have tested negative and are fit to travel.

On June 24, Emirates had announced to temporarily suspended flight operations to Pakistan. The airline issued a press statement stating: “We regret to temporarily suspend passenger services from Pakistan, from 24 June 04:00 AM, until further decision.”

The Dubai-based airline will continue to operate repatriation flights into Pakistan as per the announced schedule along with cargo services that support the trade and movement of goods between Pakistan and UAE.

“We remain in contact with the relevant authorities on requirements to resume services for travelers and look forward to operating our flights again soon. Affected customers will be contacted directly by our service team. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
