ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has stated that elections will be conducted as per the decision of the Supreme Court while the monitoring of the election campaign will be strict.
According to the details, in the statement issued by the Election Commission, it was said that the Election Commission will ban the elections under the decision of the Supreme Court. A high-level delegation of Tehreek-e-Insaf met the Chief Election Commissioner today.
During the meeting, PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar put forward a demand to issue instructions to IG Punjab and Chief Secretary. On which, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja assured to remove the reservations.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that all the political parties have to cooperate with the commission regarding the election. We will provide equal opportunities to all political parties. PTI leader Malika Bukhari was also included in the delegation.
PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar complained to the Chief Election Commissioner about the caretaker government’s attitude. The issue of the rounding up of PTI workers and alleged murder in Lahore during the protest campaign was also raised yesterday.
