As Eid al-Adha draws near, preparations are in full swing at Karachi’s Northern Bypass, which is now home to Asia’s largest temporary cattle market set up for Eidul Adha 2025. Located in Taiser Town, the sprawling market covers over 1,000 acres and promises an improved experience for traders and buyers alike.
Shahab Ali, the market administrator, disclosed that preparations kicked off shortly after Eidul Fitr, earlier than in previous years.
This year features several enhancements aimed at ensuring convenience and satisfaction for visitors. Among these are reduced parking fees—slashed by 50% compared to last year—and authorization for traders to bring their own animal fodder. To prioritize the health of sacrificial animals, free veterinary check-ups will be provided to confirm their well-being.
Animal welfare stands as a key focus, with each large animal receiving 30 liters of water daily and smaller animals granted 8 liters—all provided without charge. The market is set to officially open to the public between April 20 and 26 and boasts comprehensive amenities, including water supply, electricity, parking, security, and veterinary services.
To streamline operations, over 18 tenders have been issued, covering areas such as electricity, water provision, veterinary care, parking, and branding. The market expects the arrival of 400,000 to 500,000 animals from various regions of Pakistan in the coming days.
