ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the moon has been debated in Pakistan for many years, but after a gap of one year, two Eids are being celebrated again in the country.
Yesterday, the Central Reut-e- Hilal Committee announced after mutual consultation that no Shariah evidence of the moon had been received from all over Pakistan, therefore Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Tuesday, May 3.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, said in a press conference with the Ulema that the committee decided to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr by consensus.

Furthermore, Abid Hussain Shakri, another member of the Peshawar Zonal Committee, said yesterday that he did not agree with the decision of the Zonal Hilal Committee.
He said that if there was any evidence, he would satisfy them by talking to the federation. Such decisions spread chaos. Later, he said that if he was not satisfied with the evidence, he would fast today.
