Meanwhile, the Private Ruet Hilal Committee of Qasim Ali Khan Mosque Peshawar has announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon and has announced celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, May 2 (today).
On Sunday, after a meeting of the committee in Qasim Ali Khan Mosque, Chief of the committee Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai announced the sighting of the moon and said that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated tomorrow (Monday).

Earlier, the crescent for the moon of Shawal was not been sighted and therefore, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee met to sight the moon of Shawal 1443 AH. The main meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Islamabad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs chaired by Maulana Abdul Kabir Azad. A meeting of the Zonal committees was also held in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore.
Maulana Azad announced the final decision about the sighting of the crescent, saying that no credible eyewitness over the sighting of the moon was received from any part of the country.
