LARKANA: Four women have sustained injuries during a cash distribution ceremony in Larkana.
The mismanagement was witnessed during a cash distribution ceremony under Ehsaas Programme. The police baton-charged several women who were gathered in the centre to receive cash under the programme.
A large number of women gathered in the crowd also increased the risk of spreading coronavirus as there was no arrangement of maintaining social distance.
Moreover in Sukkur, some women reached the designated place early and when they found the gate was locked, these women climbed it to enter the premises.
The distribution of cash assistance under the Ehsaas Programme to deserving families began from Thursday across the country. Around 12 million families affected by the ongoing coronavirus lockdown would get Rs 12,000 each under the initiative.
The federal government in this regard had allocated Rs 144 billion for the initiative and would be distributed across Pakistan. A person can be registered for the programme, by sending his CNIC to 8171. The only people who receive text can be facilitated under this initiative.
