KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi has said effective measures are being taken to control inflation and price hike at the lower level.
While addressing the renaming ceremony of a university in Karachi on Saturday, Dr Alvi said the national economy has been put on the right trajectory due to the prudent policies of the government.
The President said job opportunities have been generated in the textile sector and the economic policies of the incumbent government are now benefitting the common man. He said there is a need to strengthen financial institutions on modern lines and formulation of policies keeping in view new trends.
Dr Alvi said brand Pakistan should be promoted at the international level. He said it is necessary to bring women folk into the mainstream for national development besides creating job opportunities for them.
The President said the government adopted a practical policy during the coronavirus pandemic and announced a package for industries.
The Prime Minister provided financial assistance to weaker segments of society during the lockdown and saved lives and livelihood simultaneously, he added.
President Alvi stressed the need for the participation of all political stakeholders to address people’s problems especially the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Dr Alvi said that the federal government was making all-out efforts to play its role regarding the development needs of Karachi, adding that the solutions to the problems of Karachi will be addressed.
