A meeting of provincial education ministers will be held today under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood. According to sources, educational institutions across the country are likely to reopen in phases from 25th January.

Shafqat Mahmood had said yesterday that the exams in March would be delayed and the summer holidays would be reduced this year. Last week, representatives of private educational institutions met with him and urged him to open educational institutions from 11th January.
He said that educational institutions could not be reopened without the suggestions of the Ministry of Health. “We have to look after the health of everyone, including children, teachers, and staff,” Mahmood said. The minister had said that the decision to open educational institutions would be taken on the briefing of the Ministry of Health.
