A day earlier, the minister had chaired the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) which had decided to hold examinations of classes 10 and 12 after June 20.
According to an official statement, summer vacations will be limited and province will decide how many leaves to grant as they see fit. The minister had urged all federal units to ensure timely vaccination of teachers, supervisory staff, and other administrative staff.
Several government officials, as well as Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi, have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic first began in February last year.
