ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has announced all educational institutions schools, colleges, universities, and will remain closed till May 23.
On a social media website Twitter, the NCOC said a meeting to review the decision would be held on May 18 and the decision to reopen the educational institutions would be taken after taking into account the COVID-19 situation at the time.
The decision came after NCOC held a session today to review the coronavirus situation in the country. “In view of ongoing disease trends, education institutes earlier closed till 17th May will continue to remain closed till 23rd May ’21,” NCOC tweeted.

Pakistan has reported 120 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 854,240. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 18,797 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 4,109 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 8,951 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,722 in Sindh, 3,562 in KP, 706 in Islamabad, 503 in Azad Kashmir, 246 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.
