ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the petition filed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur as she skipped the hearing.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Judge Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi conducted the hearing, in which he dismissed the plea over non-appearance of Faryal Talpur and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Arsalan Taj.
Talpur was granted bail in the fake bank accounts case by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on 17th December 2019 and was directed by the IHC to submit a surety bond worth Rs10 million.
The IHC, in its 11th December’s judgment, also approved the bail petition of her brother, former president Asif Ali Zardari on medical grounds. He was also directed to submit Rs10 million surety bonds in the court.
