ISLAMABAD: Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will chair the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting today.
According to sources, the meeting of the ECC will consider a nine-point agenda, while the supply of gas to villages in gas-rich areas will also be discussed in the meeting.
The meeting will consider policy guidelines for the provision of satellite services in the country and will consider equity investment of Rs 22.5 million abroad.

The ECC meeting will also consider Port Qasim pump houses and underground water tank projects, while a road construction project in Port Qasim Industrial Zone is expected to be approved. The meeting is also likely to approve plans to build a sewerage system in Karachi.
Earlier this month, the ECC approved an increase in power tariff for K-Electric consumers, as the metropolis continues to experience prolonged power outages.
According to details, the decision was taken by the ECC meeting chaired by Advisor to Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh. Earlier, K-Electric has applied for an increase in power tariffs. In this regard, the economic committee approved an increase of up to Rs 2.89 per unit in the tariff for K-Electric consumers. The tariff increases will be made in the form of quarterly adjustments.
