In a tragic incident, a Pakistani student in Australia passed away after the lithium battery of his e-bike exploded inside his home. The fatal accident took place early Tuesday morning.
According to international media, the victim of a fatal house fire sparked by an e-bike battery is identified as a young international student who was trying to set up a new life for himself in Sydney.
As reported by 7 news, Haidar Ali, 21, was killed when a lithium-ion battery that was charging in his room exploded just before 5am on Tuesday. Five of his housemates managed to escape the home on Rowley Rd, Guildford, but Ali was trapped inside and couldn’t be saved.
His friend Muhammad Asif states that Ali had recently moved to Australia from Pakistan and was trying to make a living by delivering food on his electric bike. “He was a very good man, studying civil construction” friend Muhammad Asif said.
Daily Mail has reported that Haider Ali was pulled from the burning home by firefighters but was unable to be revived. The civil and construction engineering student emigrated to Australia from Pakistan 18 months ago with no relatives in the country. He was the eldest of three children of his parents.
