DUHS girls’ hostel video incident: Inquiry committee established

KARACHI: Vice Chancellor of Dow University of health sciences (DUHS) Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy has set up an inquiry committee to investigate the girls’ hostel video issue, where girls were mishandled.

The committee, headed by Professor Kartar Dawani, Pro VC DUHS has started the work. The committee is assigned to report within 24 hours and fix responsibility. However, the video makers are former students of Dow University.

The Dow university spokesperson said in a statement that the higher education commission had instructed all the local students to vacate the hostel in compliance with COVID-19 safety measures and SOPs.

Dow university spokesperson made it clear that according to all rules in the university, employees have been recruited on the domicile of Sindh.

“All the discussions regarding ignoring the rules and regulations in the recruitment of employees are baseless,” he added. He said that media will be informed as soon as girls hostel video incident inquiry is completed
