In Karachi, District East Police have arrested dozens of fake police officers who are involved in robberies and kidnappings using a digital platform site.
As per the police, the accused used to steal data from a private digital site and contact customers for delivery. After contacting them, the accused would wear fake police uniforms and reach the doorsteps of the customers and commit house robberies and kidnappings.
SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal arrested two accused after identifying them with the help of CCTV footage received from several crime scenes.
Two illegal 30-bore pistols with ammunition, mobile phones, an LED, and stolen watches were recovered from the accused during their arrest. A vehicle number BKY-361 with a fake number plate used by the accused was seized by the police.
Three police uniforms, 08 stolen mobile phones, dozens of uniform badges, various mobile SIMs, and 20 bags stolen during the robberies were recovered from the arrested accused.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had committed several incidents inside and outside Karachi. Cases have been registered against the arrested accused under the code of conduct, while more cases have been handed over to the investigating authorities for arrest/investigation.
The arrested accused include Bilawal Khilji, son of Abdul Jabbar Khilji, and Syed Waqas Hussain, son of unknown.
