MULTAN: Panic and fear gripped Multan after reports that dozens of abandoned bodies and human remains were found on the roof of the mortuary of Nishtar Hospital.
Hospital management, however, rebuked horror reports about the bodies and explained that they were merely cadavers, used for examination by medical students.
The bodies were found by Punjab Chief Minister’s (CM) Adviser Chaudhry Zaman Gujjar who ordered an immediate inquiry.
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, taking notice of the reports, expressed a deep sense of grief and ordered an immediate probe followed by actions against those responsible for such act.
Responding to news reports, CM’s son Moonis Elahi tweeted that these bodies were handed over by police to Nishtar Medical University Multan for post-mortem and, if required, to be used for teaching purposes of MBBS students.
