Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi starrer ‘Double XL’ has arrived in theatres.
Directed by Satramm Ramani, the comedy-drama is based on body shaming. Double XL is a Hindi language comedy in which two plus-size women negotiate society’s strict beauty standards as they pursue their respective careers.
Overall, the movie has been receiving a mixed response with netizens calling Double XL a ‘massive opportunity wasted’. Let’s have a look:
#DoubleXL is MEDIOCRE. Even the fine performances of #HumaQureshi and #SonakshiSinha can’t save this film. The concept was good and could have been parlayed into a much better film but they’ve lost the opportunity. Music is okay. Dialogues are good.

#DoubleXL a poor excecution on a sensible topic which pivots mainly away from the straight forward matter of the movie, this movie was rejected by the otts intially because of this in my opinion a aimless screenplay overall is a big let down for the movie as a whole

#DoubleXL is largely superficial – One can’t relate to the rise of two protagonists as their fall isn’t big enough. Neither does the humour work, nor does the drama in journey of two leads.
