KARACHI: Legendary literary figure Anwar Maqsood, while warning about the account named after him on social media, revealed that he does not internet and smartphone.
A video message of Anwar Maqsood surfaced on social media in which he explained that there are many imposters tweets on behalf of him from different social media accounts. “I don’t have a laptop, I don’t have internet, I don’t have a smartphone,” he revealed.
Showing a simple phone in his hand, Anwar Maqsood said, “I have this oldest telephone, in which even texting is difficult because I don’t know how to text.”
“I apologize to all the people who are suffering because of me, I don’t have an account,” he said. “People who are creating fake accounts in my name are requested not to do so. I have been in the industry for the last 50 years. I have never used the wrong words for anyone,” Anwar Maqsood said.

Moreover, earlier last month, Anwar Maqsood in an interview with a media outlet, explained why he does not write for television anymore. He said, “I have stepped back [from writing] because what is happening on the television in the recent times, there is no place for me.”
“Today, they are writing in a hurry. There is pressure on the writers. What is being written in one play is being repeated in the next. Nowadays, it seems that the playwrights do not have any books in their houses. I request those who are writing the drama, please shun the quarrels and conspiracies of the mothers-in-law,” said Anwar Maqsood.
